Case Study 2023

Customer Background

NJR Solar was contacted by an insurance broker requesting a quote for the rectification of a large system which was damaged by a recent fire on an industrial unit.

The Challenge

After conducting a site survey, damage was identified. The damage affected three different inverters meaning we had to rebalance the system to ensure the correct output remained on each inverter.

The Solution

The issues identified called for a comprehensive solution. We opted to remove all panels in the affected area, install x40 new Trina Vertex S 425w panels, re-terminate all man-made connections, and properly dressing all cables. We also ensured that MC4 connectors were appropriately positioned to prevent water ingress.

We then tested and recommissioned the system and found one of the ten inverters to be faulty. Once we had identified the make and model of the inverter it became clear that this was a discontinued product and we would be unable to provide a like for like replacement. From there we sourced an inverter with matching specifications from the same manufacturer. We ordered this from the Netherlands and replaced the faulty inverter in a timely fashion.
